As you are all probably aware, recent weather conditions have proved a nuisance this festive season. All though a hog roast can be served in any weather conditions – inside and outside, there is always a problem when it comes to travelling. Our vans are pretty good when it comes to the snow but party organisers and guests alike often have problems getting about when temperatures drop and the roads become slick with ice. Although we have had some cancellations due to the adverse weather conditions, practically all clients have rebooked for January. This way their employees or family and friends don’t miss out on our succulent hog roasts. I’m sure you have heard me mention our special menus before (that’s all I seem to talk about lately) but here I go again. Things to try in the New Year are...Spit Roasted Piri Piri Chicken, Spit Roasted Jerk Chicken and the increasingly popular Spit Roasted Turkey Menu. These are all tasty alternatives to the Spit roasted pig and if your guests like it spicy, they will definitely enjoy the Chicken options. The Jerk Chicken is served with a side helping of Hot Sauce if you are brave enough! I’d also better mention our new BBQ’s purchased towards the end of November ready for the increase in bookings during the summer. We noticed a huge increase in hog roast enquiries last year as well as a large increase in people asking about our BBQ’s. The great thing about the traditional Barbie is the fact that there is always something for everyone. From vegetarian Kebabs to meaty steaks and Cajun chicken, all your guests will be catered for regardless of diet, taste or religion for that matter. Our menus range from simple burgers and sausages to three or four course meals with the main course served as a buffet from the BBQ itself. Our chef’s are fairly flexible so we urge all those making enquiries to suggest their own menus if they would prefer. This gives our chef’s the opportunity to show off their expertise on the BBQ whilst ensuring that clients receive exactly what they are after. It would be unwise of me not to mention the increasing innovation when it comes to hog roast machines and BBQ’s, especially within the Spitting Pig Company itself. We at Spitting Pig South West own five machines, all of which can be used as hog roasters, spit roast machines or BBQ’s. With machines being developed all the time, we can assure you that all of our machines are of the highest quality and because of recent upgrades; we can boast the tastiest pork in the South West. I urge anyone to come forward with a more equipped machine and more difficult still, more succulent pork! Lastly, With the Nation in a frenzy over Christmas and the Festive Season, we as a catering company, have done extremely well! Bookings have soared and although the weather has been against us, people have continued to book Spitting Pig South West for their Christmas Parties and New Year events. We have also been extremely lucky to maintain our high success rate when it comes to repeat bookings especially when there has been a much publicised slump in economic activity. Let’s just hope that next year is even better. You never know, Prince William may want to book a hog roast for his upcoming wedding. Now wouldn’t that be great!!
